NOW I get it! - January 15, 2011

My sister Makelle is constantly bugging me to get going on my blog! This week I was at her house and FINALLY realized why her blog is so important to her. She has been updating her blog fairly regularly for the last 2 years, and just had "blog books" published for her family for the last 2 years of their life with photos and journal entries, and I was blown away. There were silly entries with pictures of her little girls with curlers in their hair, funny faces, carving pumpkins, family outings, thoughts about the love that she has for her husband and so many more....Now I get it! This blogging isn't just so that you can share or "brag" about your family...it is to have a piece of history to share with your children about the lives they are living and the experiences that they have while they are on this earth. If these experiences are not recorded, they are quickly forgotten when the moments pass by. SO...my resolution is to make it a priority to record events from the life of my family, the feelings that they bring to my heart, and the photos to go with them. Starting with today. I won't be adding pictures for this entry, because it wasn't a moment to "grab the camera." Today brought a magical moment in our home. One of our favorite things to do with our little Lilly over the last 2 1/2 years of her life is to have "dance parties." This little girl can dance, and she has some great moves! :) This morning, we were dancing in the living room, me holding Grayson, and Matt holding Lilly and she said, "Put on the Daddy song." I put in a song that for some reason, she refers to as the "Daddy Song" - Chris Brown : FOREVER. While we were holding Grayson & Lilly, dancing around the living room, we both had an overwhelming feeling, that brought tears to our eyes, of the love we have for each other, our children and the life that we have been blessed with. "It's like I've waited my whole life for this one night, it's gonna be me & you on the dance floor, cause we've only got one night, double your pleasure, double your fun and dance forever, forever forever, forever girl forever, forever, forever, forever, forever on the dance floor."

I love it!! You do forget about those moments, even if you write them down, but then you have a place where you can find them and remember them again. Love you!!
