Kelli and Grayson are working on the bottle together. We are making progress, but it is a bit challenging to feed Grayson a bottle, because he weighs 17 lbs...so to hold him in one arm, the bottle in the other and bounce him all at the same time makes for a pretty good workout!

Operation Bottle Feeding - February 1, 2011

NEW YEARS 2010-11 : January 1, 2011
Mum & Bepa are wanting to start a new tradition of having a slumber party for the grandkids at their house on New Years Eve! This year, Lilly, Savannah, Ruby & Madison stayed the night at their house while we we went out with Scott, Makelle and Richard...oh and Grayson and baby Mae too....the babies weren't invited to the party! We had dinner at Guiseppe's Pizza (YUM) and the girls got to make their own pizza out of english muffins and yummy toppings! They also made waffle cones, had "toasts" with fancy Shirley Temple drinks, played "Sing-it" (karaoke) on the Wii, made noises with horns at "midnight" (10pm) and they even got to go to the beauty parlor. Bepa did the girls make-up and fingernails. What a fun night the girls have! I am so blessed to have parents who find so much joy in being grandparents and creating fun and exciting memories for their grandkids. I am also reminded of a fun memory of Bepa from many years ago. We were in Florida on a trip to DisneyWorld right before Christmas time. Kali & Kijanna were helping Bepa to get presents together for everyone and Bepa told them that they needed some magic to help Bepa to be one of Santa's helpers. I can't remember if it was Kali or Kijanna that said, "We could make magic if we had a wand." Such a fun memory! Bepa loves his grandkids!

Jungle Gym Party - Jan 27, 2011

"We can go to the Jungle Gym another day" is what Lilly said to me several times on the drive home from A.J. Burke's 5 year old birthday party at the Kids Club in Vancouver. She had SO much fu
n running around the huge jungle gym and went down the slide at least 30 times! When we pulled into the
driveway at home, she was asleep and so I carried her in to the house, put her in bed, took off her coat and boots and she didn't even wake up. When she woke up the next morning she thought it was hilarious that she was still in her clothes...and of course told me "We can go to the Jungle Gym another day!"A Bottle and a Prayer - Jan 28, 2011
I will be returning to work from maternity leave in just over a week and I haven't been quite as good as I had intended to be with helping Grayson to learn to drink from a bottle. The last 3 months have flown by, and when it comes time each day for Grayson to eat, I have truly cherished the time that I have face to face with him while he nurses...which is why we are now struggling a bit with the bottle! He has had about 10 bottles so far, but is still not 100% comfortable with it. I have every confidence that he will be fine, because I don't think that this nearly 17 pound baby boy would let himself miss a meal! With that being said, we need all the help we can get for my chunky little boy to become a pro at sucking down his milkies from a bottle, so Grayson and I had our first "Mommy and Baby Prayer" today. We sat down together, Grayson tried his best to fold his arms over his big chubby belly, and we asked Heavenly Father for His blessing to help Grayson to learn to drink from a bottle. I know that our little prayer will be answered!

NOW I get it! - January 15, 2011
My sister Makelle is constantly bugging me to get going on my blog! This week I was at her house and FINALLY realized why her blog is so important to her. She has been updating her blog fairly regularly for the last 2 years, and just had "blog books" published for her family for the last 2 years of their life with photos and journal entries, and I was blown away. There were silly entries with pictures of her little girls with curlers in their hair, funny faces, carving pumpkins, family outings, thoughts about the love that she has for her husband and so many more....Now I get it! This blogging isn't just so that you can share or "brag" about your family...it is to have a piece of history to share with your children about the lives they are living and the experiences that they have while they are on this earth. If these experiences are not recorded, they are quickly forgotten when the moments pass by. SO...my resolution is to make it a priority to record events from the life of my family, the feelings that they bring to my heart, and the photos to go with them. Starting with today. I won't be adding pictures for this entry, because it wasn't a moment to "grab the camera." Today brought a magical moment in our home. One of our favorite things to do with our little Lilly over the last 2 1/2 years of her life is to have "dance parties." This little girl can dance, and she has some great moves! :) This morning, we were dancing in the living room, me holding Grayson, and Matt holding Lilly and she said, "Put on the Daddy song." I put in a song that for some reason, she refers to as the "Daddy Song" - Chris Brown : FOREVER. While we were holding Grayson & Lilly, dancing around the living room, we both had an overwhelming feeling, that brought tears to our eyes, of the love we have for each other, our children and the life that we have been blessed with. "It's like I've waited my whole life for this one night, it's gonna be me & you on the dance floor, cause we've only got one night, double your pleasure, double your fun and dance forever, forever forever, forever girl forever, forever, forever, forever, forever on the dance floor."
